The first preparatory work meeting for the fourteenth China International Fair of Investment and Trade (CIFIT) was held on February 2 in Beijing. Assistant commerce minister Wang Chao, deputy direct and secretary-general of the organizing committee of the CIFIT and vice governor of Fujian Ye Shuangyu and deputy director of the organizing committee of the CIFIT and Xiamen mayor Liu Cigui attended the meeting.
Wang said that the second World Investment Forum and the fourteenth CIFIT will be simultaneously held, which will not only attract more high-quality overseas businessmen for the CIFIT and bring more resources, but provide a more vast space for relevant departments and enterprises across China to show images, promote and introduce projects and excavate commercial opportunities. We shall hold well the second World Investment Forum to exert its advantage of resources and uplift the popularity and influence of the CIFIT; and conduct target-oriented scheming activities to boost investment and promotion to a new level.
Ye said that this year’s CIFIT will face a new situation, so handling the second World Investment Forum and the CIFIT, we shall earnestly carry out the central deployment, positively adapt to the changes of the situation and focus on investment hot spots; better serve the national development strategy of the construction of the economic zone on the west side of Taiwan Straits to further expend space; make great efforts to innovate systems, mechanisms and working modes to further get the CIFIT featuring innovation, characteristics, a high level and actual effect; constantly raise the service guarantee; enhance the awareness of the overall situation and responsibility to do well various pieces of preparatory work to satisfy the businessmen and guests from home and abroad to make new contributions to the construction of the west side of Taiwan Straits.
