In 2009, Shanghai headquarters economy foreign-funded projects continuously kept a trend of good development, with a total of 79 headquarters economy foreign-funded projects settling in Shanghai, among which there were 36 multinational companies’ regional headquarters, 13 foreign-funded investment companies and 30 foreign-funded R&D centers.

As of later 2009, foreign businessmen had accumulatively set up 755 headquarters economy foreign-funded projects in Shanghai. Moreover, it is predicted that in 2009, the sales revenues of Shanghai foreign-funded enterprises will slightly increase compared with the previous year, with the amount tax to be paid rising more than 30% year-on-year.
