1.Brief Introduction It is the oldest and the largest free trade zone in China and also the one with the largest economic volume among all 15 free trade zones in China.It is an economic zone implementing special administration with separation measures.Goods move freely between the free trade zone and the outside exempted of duty and VAT on importation,the examination of permits and regular inspection and regulation(excluding the goods whose importation is prohibited by the State and goods under special regulations)are also exempted. Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone is a comprehensive free trade zone integrated with multi economic functions such as international trade,advanced manufacture industry modern logistics and exhibition and trading of bonded commodities, and it is also one of the most significant bases for modern logistic industry,export and import trade and the significant part of Shanghai's micro-electric industry belt. 2.Location Advantages It is located in the Pudong New Area,near the estuary of Yangtze River,adjacent to Waigaoqiao Port.Yanggao Road,Yingao Road Tunnel,Outer Ring Tunnel,Metro Line 6 and Hunansu Highway under construction Free Trade Zone with the urban area and the surrounding cities. 3.Industry Orientation The three industries of international trade, processing & manufacturing and modern logistics have been developed from the trial exploration to the core functional industries.The industry orientation is to develop pot industries with the major features of four functions including international trade, modern logistics, advanced manufacturing industry and exhibition of bonded commodities. 4.Land Up to the end of 2006,an area of 8.25 square km out of the planned area of 10 square km has been operated close-bonded,among which the accumulative area transferred and leased has reached 4.2722 million square meter,taking up 50.1% of the closed-bonded area. 5.Infrastructure (1)Water Lingqiao water plant on the west side of the free trade zone has a daily supply capacity of 400,000 MT,and the quality of the water accords with the state's drinking water standard. (2)Power The Waigaoqido power station locates on the east of Waigaoqiao free trade zone,which provides 5,400,000 kilowatts.The first phase has input the East China Power Grid,the capacity is 1,200,000kilowatts.Now five 35,000 KV transformer substations have been put into operation and the current power supply capability is 200,000KV. (3)Gas The natural gas is supplied by East Sea Natural Gas Oil Field and the current supply capacity reaches 136,000 standard m3 per day with heating value of 1.36 billion K per day. (4)Heating Waigaoqiao Heating Power Co.,Ltd., is in charge of the Central Heating project.Currently 20km long heating pipe line has been constructed with heating capacity of 200 ton per hour. (5)Telecommunication Waigaoqiao FTZ has the perfect telecommunication infrastructure.Waigaoqiao FTZ has built the telecommunication offices building with the telecommunication lines' capability amounting to 160thousand.All kinds of information services can be provided such as DDN data special network including IDD,DDD,Fax and Telex,internet high speed access,server trusteeship,broad band data network access and ISP.
