1.Brief Introduction Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone was built with the approval of the State Council with a total planned area of 27km.It is divided into two parts:South area and North area.The North area,with a planned land for use of 19.94 square kilometers,is located in the center of Shanghai Pudong New Area,abuts upon Lujiazui Finance&Trade Zone in the west,neighbors on Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in the north and faces Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park.The North area aims to developing advanced manufacture industry,manufacturing service industry,residence and comprehensive services.Jinqiao South area,with a planned land for use of 7.44 square kilometers,is located in the southeast of Pudong New Area,20 kilometers from Pudong International Airport,80 kilometers from Yangshan Deepwater Port.With unique super location and the convenience of transportation by air,sea and road,it is suitable for the development of export processing,duty-free logistics,research and design and maintenance services.In June 2002,phase I of Jinqiao(South)Customs Inspection and Administration Zone with an area of 1.55 square kilometers passed the joint inspection and acceptance by the 8 ministries including China Customs and was put into operation. In 2006,the gross industrial output value of Jinqiao EPZ reached RMB146 billion taking 1/3 of the total of Pudong New Area and 8% of the total of Shanghai.Jinqiao Hi-Tech Industries,with electronics and information, automobile and its components,modern electrical household appliances, bioengineering and pharmaceuticals as well as food processing as the mainstay,have formed the advanced manufacturing industry base with the largest scale in Shanghai.With an annual industrial output value per square kilometer of RMB 8.8 billion,the total attracted investment of US$1 billion of,an annual tax revenue of RMB714 million and employment positions of almost 10,000,Jinqiao EPZ becomes one of the development zone with the most rapid development,largest investment intensity,most technical contents and best output efficiency throughout the nation. The international community named Green City lying in the Jinqiao Export Processing Zone is the high-quality international community with the most special features.Besides the villas and apartments with a low plot ratio and super-taste,there are also schools for foreign children,advanced medical and health institutes,complete commercial facilities,restaurants with special features,first-class sport and relaxation places and churches for the worship by foreigners,which basically meet the various demands of foreigners and their families.There are 2000 families living in the Green City,with about 7000 persons,among which 1/3 are foreigners and their family members from 28 countries and areas in the world. 2.Location Advantages Located in the center of Pudong New Area,Jinqiao EPZ enjoys a super location with a distance of 15 kilometers(about 20-min drive)to Pudong International Airport,17 kilometers to Waigaoqiao Port(about 20-min drive on the outer ring)and 1 kilometer(about 5-min drive)to the inner ring. 3.Industries The four main industries have been formed:electronic information,automobile assembly and component,modern household appliances,bio-pharmaceutics and medical instruments.In the future,based on the development of advanced manufacturing industry ,the development of manufacturing service industry will be accelerated to make the zone one of the clusters of manufacturing service industries.The gross industry output of Jinqiao EPZ in 2006 reached RMB 140billion,accounting for 1/3 of the total of Pudong New Area and 9% of the total of Shanghai.It has become one of the development zones with the fastest development speed,the highest investment intensity,the most technology contents and the best output efficiency throughout the country. 4.Infrastructure (1)Transportation The zone is connected with the outer ring and the inner ring respectively to the East and West,and with the traffic trunk lines in Pudong New Area-Yunjian Road and Yanggao Road respectively to the South and North,connected with Longdong Avenue-the trunk line leading directly to Pudong International Airport. (2)Water supply The water in Jinqiao EPZ is supplied by Lingqiao Water Plant and Jujiaqiao Water Plant with a supply capacity of 22k tons/day,and the water quality complies with the state standard for drinking water GB5740-85. (3)Natural Gas All the distribution pipes within the zone are designed for the distribution pressure of natural gas(400Kpa).At present,natural gas is put into use in the whole zone. (4)Power One 220KV local switch station(within No.2 Land Lot)is built in the zone.The power is supplied by Waigaoqiao Power Station and Yanggao substation.11 further 35KV switch stations are planned and three of them have been put into operation.The ring net supply has been realized within the zone with a supply capacity of 16K KVA. (5)Telecommunication The planned telephone volume is 150,000 lines and at present there's a volume of 130,000 program-controlled telephones.In 1996,the ring net communication fiber was put into operation providing telecommunication businesses such as DCD,IDD,EDI,DDN,ISDN and VSAT. (6)Rain Water Drainage The rain water and waster water are drained separately within the zone.4 rain water pumping stations with drainage capacity of 69.65m3 per second. (7)Waste Water Drainage Two waste water pumping stations have been built within the zone with drainability of 100,000 tons per day.The users shall process the water to meet the emission standard provided by the environmental protection institutions before the waste water enters the drainage system. (8)Steam There is a central heating system within the zone with current supply capacity of 130T/H and a planned capacity towards outside of 400T/H. (9)Special Industrial Gas In order to attract IC and semi-conductor industry to settle in Jinqiao and to provide complete service for the enterprises,the zone has introduced from Praxair and Shanghai BCC Air various special industrial gases such as Helium,Argon,Oxygen and Nitrogen,which is particularly convenient for the micro-electron enterprises and the supporting enterprises. 5.Plants and Office Buildings There are standard plants and office buildings for lease 6.Resident Enterprises 16 headquarter projects and 87 independent or dependant multinational corporations and the R&D institutions of big domestic enterprises have been introduced.Up to the end of 2006,a total of 754 projects have been introduced with the accumulative investment amount of us$15.28 billon.Among the investors,47 corporations on the list of Fortune Global 500 List have invested 80 projects. 7.Contact Shanghai Jinqiao(Group)Co.,Ltd.
