Chinese Markets Maintains the Huge Attraction in Investment for Swedish Corporations
2008-10-28 09:23:37

China continuously maintains the huge attraction in investment for Swedish corporations, with one Swedish corporation entering Chinese markets every four days on average, Swedish Industrial Daily reported recently.

Industrial Daily cited the recent statistic data of Sweden Export Council and Swedish SEB Bank as saying that from last July to June this year, there are a total of nearly 100 Swedish companies setting up branches in China. Swedish medium and small-sized enterprises are more and more buoyant about Chinese markets, the newly-established enterprises being mainly Swedish small-sized enterprises with staff less than 100. In addition, most Swedish enterprises which carry out export processing in China also begin to pay attention to Chinese local consumption market.

Christanson, chief representative of Chinese representative office of Swedish SEB Bank said it has been an apparent trend that more and more Swedish companies want to set up branches in China. Chinese growing “middle-class groups” attract masses of Swedish enterprises covering service industry, medical care industry, environmental protection industry and consumer goods industry. He though that most of the Swedish large-sized companies have stood firmly in China and most of them grows rapidly through acquiring Chinese companies.

Statistics showed that at present, there are a total of 550 Swedish companies establishing branches or offices in China and nearly 10,000 Swedish companies keep cooperation of business with China.
