The service industry took on an increasing momentum at constantly faster pace in 2006. As the Proportion of the added value of the wholesale and retailing industry, hotels and catering industry in the service industry declined slightly, that of the financing industry, transportation and warehousing, post industry, information service industry climbed up to some degree. In 2006, the added value for the financing industry, both the transportation and warehousing and the post industry, as well as the information service industry of the whole city stood at RMB 79.937 billion, RMB 68.361 billion and 49.955 billion, up 17.6%, 13.8%, and 18.1% respectively over the previous year. The total tourism revenue took up 19.4% of that of the national total, whose added value for 2006 stood at RMB 69.51 billion, rising 17.8% over the previous year. The added value of wholesale and retailing industry, hotels and catering industry of the city reached RMB 1.10155 trillion, up 9.2% over the previous year, and took up 21.4% of the total added value for the service industry. The total retail sales of consumer goods stood at RMB 336.041 billion, up 13% over the previous year. The total sales of commodities stood at RMB 1.55 trillion, up 19.8% over the previous year. The contribution rate of other service industry, including scientific research, technical service, geological prospecting, leasing and business education, to the gross product of Shanghai improved sharply at 17.9% in 2006. The first batch of 12 modern industry gathering areas has been under full launch, among which the Qingpu Zhaoxiang Business Area and Yangpu Dalian Road Service Area for Creative Industries have started businesses after construction. 8 projects have been defined as the second batch of the key gathering areas projects. The creative industries had a double-digit growth in 2006, exceeding RMB 65 billion in total. As of 2006, 75 creative industry parks have been approved in Shanghai with a floor area of 2,250,500 m2. Above 2500 enterprises of the creative industry had their settlement with over 20000 employees. |
