It was known from the 2008 China (Shanghai) International Sourcing Fair which was opened in September 23 that in 2007 the direct purchase of United Nations system from China reached USD141m, up by 59.82% over 2006, but only a small part of the global procurement of the United Nations with about USD10b in whole year. Chinese exports to the United Nations ranked 16 in all the countries and merely 7 in the developing countries. According to the introduction of Wei Yingying, the chief representative of the United Nations International Children’s Fund in China who attended the sourcing fair, the United Nations procurement system has achieved incensement in successive years, which amounted to USD10.084b in 2007, up by 7.23% over 2006. The top 10 countries accounting for 37.7% of the total in the United Nations procurement, of which 6 were developed countries and 4 were developing countries.
