Recently, 2008 World Potash Forum sponsored by China Inorganic Salts Industry Association (CISIA) and Shanghai Potash Engineering Research Center was held in Shanghai. Potassium chemical industrial giants from more than 70 countries and regions such as Canada, UK, Germany, Chile and Laos jointly consulted world potash development strategy and cooperation development mechanism.
Potash industry is a branch of inorganic industry, whose products are applied to many fields and raw materials of production in such industries as agriculture, industry, medicine, food, building materials as well as pottery and porcelain. At present, potash industry across the globe lies in the period when potash markets are highly monopolized. Potash demands of various countries are increasing, which promotes the price of potash rising continuously, resulting in frequent frictions in potash trade markets and increase of production cost all over the world that affects the development of economy.
