According to the master plan of market development of Shanghai 2010 World Expo, partners and major sponsors of Shanghai Expo will get corresponding rewards and have the priorities of exhibition and area selection in the enterprise pavilions. In the meantime, franchise negotiations are gradually under way, including the production of licensed products.

Participation in exhibition. Enterprise pavilions have long been the highlights of past Expos, as well as a good platform for international large enterprises to exhibit themselves. At present, enterprise exhibitioners are in the process of confirmation. Urban Best Practice Area is originated by Shanghai World Expo. Although city is the main body of exhibition, city exhibitioners can as well organize enterprises to take part. As a result, as soon as the city exhibitioner gets confirmed, enterprises can contact the general exhibition representative or government administrative department, which the city belongs to, for joining the exhibition.

Project construction participation. (1) Construction project of every pavilion. Shanghai World Expo Site will embrace approximately 200 countries and international organizations, so the total area of exhibition pavilions will be more than 700,000 square meters, which covers self-built pavilions, rented pavilions and united pavilions. In November, 2007, organizers will begin to hand over the land to exhibitioners who choose to build their own pavilions. Therefore, enterprises that are experienced in building exhibition pavilions can positively contact relevant countries for business talks. (2) Building projects. Building projects lie not only in the site, but also among the great many Expo-supporting programs (such as railways, tunnels, roads, etc.) all over Shanghai. (3) Establishment of information systems. Several large information systems, including Site construction, operation and exhibition service, need to be established.

Project planning participation. World Expo is an international event, which requires many international top initiatives and strategic plans. In this field, foreign investment enterprises can rely on their advantages and show their capabilities. The focuses are the display of the pavilions, arrangements of exhibits, large activities and forums, the plan of online Expo. Besides, they can enter for the designs of Expo Mascot, Expo Song, as well as the construction plans of some pavilions, such as, China Pavilion. Project service participation. Exhibitions involve tremendous services, such as law, insurance, design, arrangement, etc. Apart from the appointed service suppliers, the organizer will recruit a handful of recommended service suppliers. The recommended service suppliers refer to the service enterprises with certain scale, brand and qualification.
