On December 3, 2003, China won bidding to host World Expo 2010, and Shanghai will be the host city(Referred to as Shanghai Expo). Shanghai Expo will last for 184 days from May 1, 2010 to October 31, 2010, and 200 countries and international organizations are expected to participate in Shanghai Expo, with 70 min. visitors.
On December 1, 2005, The International Exhibition Bureau unanimously adopted and approved the registration report of the Chinese Government on hosting Shanghai Expo at its 138th plenary session. The Chinese Government has completed the final legal procedure for hosting Shanghai Expo, and the preparatory phase for Shanghai Expo has practically started. |
