The Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission put into operation "Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Platform (www.investment.gov.cn)"in February 2006, to provide information on Shanghai's investment environment for foreign investors, to deal with and recommend investment-attracting projects, and to provide information service.
The Shanghai Municipal Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Commission established its verbal information service center in August 2002, and put into operation a verbal information telephone line (86-21-38814999), providing the public with 24-h uninterrupted free consulting service. By the end of 2005, it had dealt with a grand total of more than 10,000 calls with timely reply to each of them.
