Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machine Corp., Ltd. (abbr. ZPMC in English, also its brand) has had a history of 12 years since its foundation in Feb. 1992, being registered with the name of Hongkong- Shanghai joint venture in Shanghai and with capital of US$ 1,000,000. Under the policy of reform and opening-up made by the Party, as well as under the full support by Sino-Hongkong Group and leaders concerned in Shanghai, all staffs have grasped opportunities to surpass other stronger enterprises and constantly strived even in adversity; leaders have trained themselves, and workers have gained a great deal of experiences and opened the market both at home and abroad. The Corp. has risen from an unknown enterprise to a famous one in the profession of container machines all over the world; its products have shared more than 50% in the world market and its output value in 2004 has been up to US$ 900 million.

The Corporation’s output value has increased at an annual rate of 30%—50% since it strived into the world market in 1996. In 2002, the output value of the Corp. was up to US$ 400 million (increasing 30％ at the same rate); 2003, up to US$ 600 million (increasing 50％ at the same rate); in 2004, will be sure up to US$ 900 million (increasing 50% at the same rate); in 2005, will be able to sign contracts with US$ 1,350 million, increasing 50% at the same rate again.

Under the policy of reform and opening-up and the full support of leaders and other professions, we have successfully opened the world market of container machine and manufactured 1500 steel giants for both the domestic and the world market of port machine, specially of large container machine. Since ZPMC entered this market, not only China has been changed from an importer to an exporter of container machine, but the products of container machine made in China have stepped on over 80 ports in 37 countries and regions. In resent three years, our products have shared more than 50% in this profession of the world market. Up to now, large container machines made in China have appeared on the main container ports all over the world. We are striving to realize our ideal ---“every port in the world where has container should have container machines made in China”, thus greatly enhancing China’s national power and influence.

To Establish our System of “Zhonghua Brand” Electromechanical Complete Set

In order to break away from relying on the foreign products with famous brands, to reduce the cost and to strengthen the competitive power, we have strived to develop special build-up parts of container cranes in China since the foundation of the Corp. We have built up four bases of production (in Changxing, Jiangyin, Zhangjiang and Changzhou) and four branches directly under the Corp. (brake, axis-connected instrument, lift and paint), as well as more than ten factories  indirectly under the Corp.; through learning ,imitation and creation, the quality of hoist completed sets made by the latter can be compared well with that of products in famous brand of the world; to change the lopsided economy which means there are only products of steel structure in China and    electromechanical completed sets had to be imported in the past;

Our corp. has become a modernized enterprise with scientific management, being able to supply quality and reliable products made with high-tech in the short period. The strong power of ZPMC in the manufacture is unprecedented in the history of manufacturing port machine in China. In 2004, we will finish 145 bridges, i.e. to make one each two and a half days. In next year, maybe we will make 170 bridges, i.e. to make one at 1300-1600 ton each two days.

Our corp. is a rare manufacturer in the world, which is able to supply large cranes in batches and on schedule. Under the support of leaders of Shanghai municipal government, the base set up on Changxing Island has made the Corp. increase the scale economic power. We have also expanded our Corp. and trained experts in business, technology and management, who are on the world level and make ZPMC become an ever-victorious enterprise.

Designing science and development is the leading factor; only the Corp. develops both products and talents can it be improved continuously. We have grasped not only productive construction but cultural construction. Among engineering technicians and business managers, college graduates occupied 80%;  103 MBA graduates，including 92 graduates jointly cultivated by ZPMC and universities in spare time; the Corp. has also opened the class on net for training Doctors (Nova University in America), having classes in spare time; we are cultivating  Doctors for ourselves.

Developing High-tech, Types of Products Changing from Imitation to Creation

 Combined with universities, institutes and high-tech corporations, we have developed our new products by high-tech firstly, and improved the competitive power which is far stronger than that of others.

The main products made by the Corp. are large container machines (bank-bridge, ground bridge）, successfully developing a multiple market. In recent years, we have entered the steel-bridge market, large steel-member market, loading and unloading bulk cargo machine market and heavy machine market, etc.. We have opened a multiple market, taking large container machine as main products and also including other steel products, in order to prevent production prevent production unbalance and market risk. If one product is in the lower position, another one will replace it. The multiple market made employees of ZPMC give full play in his/her talent, and the earth and articles of ZPMC be fully used, and also strengthen the capacity of resistance against the market risks.
