BCD Semiconductor Manufacturing Company gathered overseas investments and intended to establish an Integrated Circuit Products Development and Manufacturing Company (IDM) which targets Bipolar BICMOS and DMOS techniques (therefore the company is named as BCD) as the main development direction, and integrates business development, circuit designing, technical production and encapsulation test of products as company’s capability profile.

After Shanghai New Advance Semiconductor Manufacturing Company was formally established, it immediately carried out thorough expansion, renovation, re-engineering, adjustment and upgrading over the depuration workshop of the existing 4-inch research & production line, equipments and power assembly facilities/equipments in Shanghai Metallurgy Research Institute Micro-electronics National Engineering Research Center. Developing and expanding from a research & production line that only produced 1,000 pieces of 4-inch orbicular chip every month into the production capability of 15,000 pieces of 6-inch Bipolar and BICMOS chips per month, Shanghai New Advance Semiconductor Manufacturing Company increased more investments afterwards and enhanced its monthly production to 40,000 pieces of 6-inch orbicular chips. This is so far in China the first technique & production line that produces 6-inch orbicular chips based on Bipolar technology.

New Advance’s 6-inch production line targets high-voltage and high-power integrated circuits as main production technique and products, which have reached sound technique stability and good product quality, and also obtained favorable reputation among the industry. The products include: Switch Convert, Linear Regulator, Standard Linear, Motor Driver and Audio Power, covering over 100 different types of Analog Integrated Circuit Products, among which 70% are exported overseas.
