In order to become a global container port and an Asia Pacific regional air transportation hub by 2010, Shanghai will increase the annual container throughput in Shanghai’s harbor to 25 million, increase annual airfreight to 3.2 million tons, and increase value added by distribution services to over 10% of the city’s GDP.
